Mood: Water Baby

There's a special level of contentment I experience when by the water. I prefer the ocean but will take a lake or a swimming pool in a pinch.

I've even been known to embrace a kiddie pool filled with beer, but you're going to have to make a much stiffer drink for that to happen again.

I Want A Getaway

Where it's not raining; where the fruit is drip-down-your-chin juicy; where you can smell the flowers and the dirt; where you can run around in gauzy fabrics and flower headbands and sip wine.

It will look like this:

Street Style Roundup

Between NY, London, Milan and Paris fashion week I've been dizzied by inspiration from all over the world. Street style never fails to excite me because it makes fashion seem tangible. Seeing "normal" (although most are model thin and work in fashion) women express a point of view with their clothing seems more accessible than watching models lurch down the catwalk.

There's some of the usual suspects in here, (cough Anna, Joanna, Olivia) as well as some fresher faces. Who topped your best dressed list at the shows?

NY Fashion Week: Street Style Standouts (Or, Admitting I Have A Complex)

I've never had a mink break my heart, steal my latte or take the last discounted designer dress in my size so I'm not sure why I seem to have such an agenda to wear their fur. It's a bit morbid and wrong, I know, but I'm completely obsessed with every fur draped lady that was spotted in NY last week.

There's plenty of politically correct things to love about these images as well (hello bell bottoms; floppy hats; circle glasses; maxis) so take a peek and let me know your favorites.

Bill Cunningham said that the best runway show has always been, and will always be, on the street. I can't disagree.

Friday's Favorite Things

So, I've kind of had a funky week. I did some interesting things, like catch a cold, subsequently lose it then pick it up again in accidental haste.

I did not unload my laundry from a week ago (to give you an indication of my focus this week) but somehow found time to prance through all of Santa Monica's consignment and vintage stores.

Great Labels was pretty impressive and if you're looking for (previously loved) Missoni dresses at an eighth of the price it's your stop. Wasteland totally hit my sweet spot with a big collection of maxi skirts; unfortunately I got there minutes before closing time and in a moment of haste got a zipper stuck in my hair in the dressing room while yelling to the hipster dressing room attendee- "I'm almost done! lightning fast!" ... I walked out with a cool, albeit random and awkward (sort of) Indian tunic. Your guess is as good as mine.

Some other things happened but most days involved me staring at a computer screen with the attention span of a kindergartner on pixie stix.

Here's what I like right now (aside from you... and carbohydrates)

1. Favorite discovery: almond milk (heaven in a cup).

2. Favorite alter-ego revisited:

3. Favorite stylish lady: Joanna Hillman. She's always on point and her boots are from Gap. All star.

4. Favorite Blog of the week: Streetfsn, for its NY Fashion week updates... sigh, to be there.... in this outfit:

5. Favorite little moment: really lol'ing (hard) at my bbms in public.

*Un-favorite moments: dog farts; any time spent on the 405; an audition which required me to learn Michael Jackson choreography and perform with all professional dancers (yes, it was as comical as you're imagining).

Blogspiration

Hi friends, I've collected some pretty things from my favorite blogs for you to look at. Take a peek and leave me a comment with your thoughts or favorites. Comments are the pinnacle of my existence.

I don't know what's up with you, but I'm having one of those I-wish-I-had-the-life-of-my-dog days where I want to sloth around in the sun and escape any semblance of responsibility; or drink wine.

Judging by these photos I'm inspired by anyone with their hand on their head...

Friday's Favorite Things

1. Favorite blog of the week: B Jones Style. She's been basing her looks this week off none other than Miss Bradshaw herself and it's making me all sorts of happy/nostalgic.

2. Favorite accessory of the week: Dayquil.

3. Favorite beauty product: Kiss Me Coral Lipstick by Revlon.

4. Favorite little moment: realizing driving through the car wash is just as fun at 22 as it was at 5 (close runner-up: having the Coral Tree valet compliment my music choice- Shakira's spanish album- ole!).

5. Favorite picture:

Illuminates just what I want to do this weekend (in between celebrating a best friend's birthday and feigning interest in the Super Bowl).
